Hi There-AterRoseum[edit source]

Hi there, look forward to working with you on this wiki! Good job so far on moving everything over from the wikia and cleaning it up. - AterRoseum

Thanks! Now that you're here, is there a particular background colour you'd like for the content area on this wiki ? Game widow (talk) 17:21, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Well I noticed that you are using the same like main background for this official wiki as the official ascend website. So why not attempt to follow the same scheme that they use to just keep a good thing going? Also I noticed on some other Curse wikis(like the wonderful Minecraft one for instance) that you can actually edit the background image of the individual buttons where it says Page Talk Share. Is it okay if I edit an image and post it here for you to use as those buttons backgrounds? I am still kinda new to how the Curse wikis and their templates and so forth work so sorry if there was any ignorance in that answer and question. AterRoseum (talk) 22:48, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Sure, leave me as many visual examples as you like Game widow (talk) 01:35, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
Well you out did your self, no need for that image I edited anymore lmao. I am currently in love with this wiki. I expected nothing less though in all honesty. Really good job.... I am just going to explore now lol AterRoseum (talk) 23:32, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

Exploring the wiki[edit source]

Okay well I did a bit of exploring and I like how things are, I also noticed a grammar error I did on a page that was moved here haha. But yea now to the important stuff. On this page, for the Crusade spells you added in, this is one of the few things you can not trust from their site. All those Crusade spells don't exist, except for Infernal Hounds, Shadow Wolves, and Storm Wolves. Those actually do exist. But the rest don't exist, some for instance like Fury were made into other things instead like a regular spell. Next, here under the Boost section, everything is all correct except they are not boost haha, they are actually Emblems, you get Emblems every time you Ascend. Depending on the god you are aligned with and all. I'll go ahead and fix the Boost thing now my self(or not since I just noticed that you already did the emblem page, just formatted differently, little confused actually lol), just thought I would tell you about it first. I can get on the game later tonight or tomorrow and double check all the curses and fix those up too. Again though, beautiful work. I'll tell you if I end up catching anything else. AterRoseum (talk) 23:51, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

well the stuff i added is entirely up to you to keep or not (seriously, no hard feelings). If you need to remove things, that's just fine. If you'd like me to check spelling or language on certain things, just ask :) — Game widow (talk) 00:15, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
Okay so I fixed the pages for Emblems and Spells. Doing Items tomorrow if I can get on. I do have one problem with the Lore page I can't seem to understand how to fix and I believe it is just because of how this wiki formats compared to Wikia. The pictures are all messed up on placement and the lines all get interrupted with that like mini-navigation is shown on here: It becomes a disaster when you hide that little mini-navigation thing that is there(note, the mini-navigation that is was put there automatically is important, it makes it so I can link to the individual lore stones when referring to them like so Dimensions). I am desiring it to look like it does on here: so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! P.S. I sectioned off my 2 bits on your talk page just to keep things easier for you, you can feel free to delete the Hi There one of mine any time. --AterRoseum (talk) 04:53, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
I think i've fixed what you want ... as for the contents menu, its presence or absence has nothing to do with linking, what allows you to link to dimensions using [[Lore#Dimensions|Dimensions]] is in fact the section title (i.e. ==Dimensions==), so if you find the long menu at the top of the page distracting, that's easily removed and your links will still work. I can also make a custom (horizontal) navigator at the top which would take less space if you prefer. But if i did that, then i'd suggest we reorder the list alphabetically and then just use the alphabet as a key. — Game widow (talk) 14:11, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
Yea thanks. I don't find the long menu distracting at all in all honesty. I currently have all the Lore Stones in chronological order so haha. But yea I think it is perfect for now. Thank you! --AterRoseum (talk) 19:55, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

Looks awesome![edit source]

Problems with external links embedded into images[edit source]

Originally there was a link to the FAQ on the game's forums from the wiki's main page through the FAQ image, but a new FAQ was created, and so the link had to be replaced. Now any links made like it how it was before get a version number added onto them which breaks the links.

Any way to fix this? For now, I created a page that will act as a redirect for the FAQ, but would rather have it the original way. XSean (talk) 21:21, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

I believe the problem was that you had included the descriptive text as part of the link: you used FAQ when all you needed was, without that final <space>FAQ at the end — Game widow (talk) 21:33, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
The version number seems to be attached to every link embedded in the images including wiki links, but it is only causing problems with external link. I'm not sure what changed from when it was originally done to now, but it appears to have messed with the code with how external links are done when embedded into the image. XSean (talk) 21:54, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
I agree that those version number links are annoying. They were implemented to solve a different problem and may or may not be the final answer. If they are actually a problem, please do send me a link to the page in question so that we can investigate further, but otherwise, things seem to be working as expected. I hope you do see that the problem you previously reported was not due to those — Game widow (talk) 22:06, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
Just checked it, and it is currently leading to '' but it should be going to '' but it seems the wiki is adding 'version=568896a981426bfa792d800ae872d486&' in between the '.php?' and '9015'. XSean (talk) 22:15, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
I did test it, but if that's what you are getting, the i'm reporting it to our tech team. I'll keep you posted. I also fixed the main page to point to the actual url — Game widow (talk) 00:22, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
I do know that Ater_Roseum was getting the same thing earlier today, and both us tried many different ways to get it working, but nothing did. Each thing either did not redirect at all, led back to the main wiki page, or to the broken link version. It does seem that links work because the version section does not affect the link unlike the one directly to Signal's forums. Everything does look normal in the source, but is only changed after hitting submit (still will show correctly in the source). So, I did change it to a link, as that does work, but it definitely shouldn't be the permanent solution. Also, right-clicking on the image, and then checking its location, it seems to also have the exact same version number (?version=568896a981426bfa792d800ae872d486) being appended to the URL just like any link that is placed within it ( XSean (talk) 01:10, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
Sorry for the delay in replying, there is definitely something strange going on and i will follow up — Game widow (talk) 00:43, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
